Graphics Design
Black Tides Interactive

Branding and Promotional Design
Black Tides Interactive is a student game development studio formed by six Games Design students from Canterbury Christ Church University. The studio was established following Hackabury, the university’s 24-hour game development hackathon, where three founding members developed a game concept that received a highly positive response from judges and participants winning their category. Inspired by the project’s success, the team expanded and began developing the idea into a larger commercial-scale game, The Jolly Fortune.
As a founding member of the studio, I happily became responsible for creating and maintaining the visual identity of Black Tides Interactive. This included designing the studio logo, promotional materials, printed exhibition assets, digital branding, and animated graphics used to represent the team at the industry event Gamebridge.
Logo Design
The Black Tides Interactive logo was designed to establish a professional and memorable identity for the studio while reflecting the nautical themes present within the team’s debut game, The Jolly Fortune. The design needed to work across both digital and print applications, from social media profiles and websites to exhibition materials and presentations.
Programme Booklet
To support the studio’s attendance at Gamebridge, I designed a promotional programme booklet that acted as an alternative to traditional business cards. The booklet featured dedicated double-page spreads for each team member, including photo’s of themselves, short biographies, portfolio links, and contact information.
The publication provided visitors, recruiters, and industry professionals with a comprehensive overview of the team while maintaining a consistent visual identity throughout. The final booklet is presented on this portfolio as an interactive flipbook.
Animated Branding
Alongside the printed materials, I created an animated version of the Black Tides Interactive logo for use in presentations, social media content, and promotional videos. The animation helped strengthen the studio’s visual identity and provided a more engaging introduction to the brand.

Outcome
The branding package provided Black Tides Interactive with a cohesive and professional visual presence for Gamebridge and future promotional opportunities. Through logo design, publication design, and motion graphics, the project demonstrates my ability to develop a complete visual identity system that supports both marketing and communication objectives.
The Green Way Home
Box Art & Packaging Design

For The Green Way Home, I designed the complete box cover artwork and visual branding for the board game. The artwork was created to capture the game’s environmental themes while remaining visually appealing and easy to identify on a shelf or exhibition table.
The artwork used for the box cover was derived from the artwork and materials of the game itself and essentially recycled into a cover photo.
The design process involved balancing thematic storytelling with practical considerations such as readability, composition, and print presentation. Through colour, typography, and illustration, the final artwork communicates the game’s identity while establishing a recognisable visual brand.
This project demonstrates my ability to create marketing-focused artwork that combines graphic design principles with visual storytelling.
The Jolly Fortune
Logo & Title Design

As part of the development of The Jolly Fortune, I created the game’s title and logo design. The objective was to establish a memorable visual identity that reflected the game’s pirate-inspired setting while remaining versatile across promotional materials, presentations, social media, and in-game applications.
The design process explored typography, iconography, and visual motifs associated with nautical adventure and exploration. Refining the final design into a cohesive title mark that supports the overall branding of the project.
The final logo serves as a central element of the game’s identity and is used across development materials, promotional content, and studio presentations.
Mango Menace 64
Title Artwork & Visual Identity

For Mango Menace 64, I designed the title artwork and key promotional image used to establish the game’s visual identity. Inspired by classic retro platformers and Nintendo 64-era presentation styles, the artwork aimed to evoke a sense of nostalgia while introducing the game’s unique personality.
The project involved creating a strong title treatment, selecting typography that reflected the game’s tone by using the textures used on the fruit enemy characters, and producing promotional artwork that could be used across digital platforms and portfolio showcases.
This work demonstrates my ability to adapt graphic design solutions to different genres and visual styles while maintaining clarity and recognisability.
Professional Branding Assets
Alongside project branding and promotional artwork, I regularly design professional branding materials for my personal and studio use. These include LinkedIn banners, email signatures, presentation graphics, and digital profile assets.
The assets are designed to work across multiple platforms while maintaining a cohesive personal brand identity.
LinkedIn Banners
The LinkedIn banners were designed to showcase my skills, projects, and professional identity while creating a strong first impression for visitors to my profile. Various concepts were explored to balance visual interest with readability and branding consistency.
Email Signatures
I designed custom email signatures to provide a professional and recognisable appearance across my personal and academic communications. The designs incorporate self-brand elements, fun drawn graphics and highlight my current student roles within the university. Each email signature reflects my personality as well and features my artwork.
